Ben Goodbrand
From fit, to fat, to fit again.
I’m Ben, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and founder of Bodyworx.
As a young man I was always fit. Being active and having been blessed with a metabolism that meant I didn’t have to pay too much attention to what I ate, allowed me to maintain a lean, muscular physique. To be honest, I took that for granted and just assumed I would be that way forever. Then in my mid-thirties, now married and with my newborn daughter gracing my life, things changed. No time for the gym. Eating at odd hours. No thought as to the type and quantity of food I needed to eat. Poor sleep. Stress. All things new parents experience to some degree, as our lives are consumed with the need and desire to spend an extraordinary amount of time caring for our precious new family member. Two years passed and I remember looking in the mirror, shirtless, not recognizing the reflection staring back at me. Where had the fit, young man I knew gone? I was overweight, tired, weak, and all of the confidence that I derived from being “the fit guy” (I know, it’s superficial, but we all have our faults) had disappeared. I was 11kg heavier, and no, not much of that was muscle!
It was time to make a change. I engaged a personal trainer to help me with a proper nutrition and exercise plan. By committing to my goals and being held accountable by my PT, I lost 13kg (28lbs) and went from 21% body fat to 15% in just 12 months (and now, I’m just 11%, at the oldest I’ve ever been🤣). I was stronger, had a heap more energy, and my confidence was back! But that’s not all. I quit my corporate career, losing a healthy salary and the job security my employer of 13 years afforded me, and decided to dive head first into my true passion - health and fitness.
Fast forward to today and I'm loving helping people, who are going through what I went through, regain their younger bodies and confidence. I resonate with the struggles of busy parents and I can use my experience to replicate the success I was able to achieve.
The methods I followed were scientifically proven, were not overly restrictive in terms of diet, and didn’t require me to spend hours on the treadmill every day. I’ve applied the same principles to my own programs, and have helped over 430 people, who struggled just like me, lose over 3,100kg (6,800lbs) - and keep it off!

As a mum of three young daughters, you could forgive Jassi if she said she didn't have the time to focus on her own health and fitness. However, following our online exercise and nutrition program, she dropped from 22kg (48lbs) and three dress sizes.
